CSIR NET Chemical Science is per-pen exam directed by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to decide the eligibility of Indian national aspirants for an award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) NET and for ascertaining the appointment of lecturers (NET) in the following subject areas under the faculty of Science and Technology
Fellowship programs like CSIR's NET and GATE are available for PhD-JRF in chemical sciences. Apart from these IISc (Bangalore) conducts its own entrance for Ph.D. admission.
Candidates clearing at least NET-LS are eligible for lectureship all over India. Also for individual states, state-level entrance (SET) is conducted for recruitment of lecturers.
JRFs are awarded each year by CSIR to candidates holding BS-4 years program/BE/B. Tech/B. Pharma/MBBS/ Integrated BS-MS/M.Sc. or Equivalent degree/BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in integrated MS-Ph.D program with at least 55% marks for General & OBC 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually handicapped candidates.
CSIR-NET Exam is conducted twice a year in June and December.
AGE LIMIT: The upper age limit for applying for the award of JRF shall be 28 years, which is relaxed up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Castes/Schedule Tribes/OBC, Physically Handicapped/Visually Handicapped and female applicants.
CSIR-UGC (NET) Exam for Award of Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lecturer ship shall be a Single Paper Test having Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The question paper is divided in three parts.
There is negative marking @25% for each wrong answer.
